Voice-controlled appliances usually mean an app, a Wi-Fi network and a smart-home hub. The SmartVoice 5.3QT Air Fryer from Emerson Smart skips all of that and works straight out of the box. Here's a closer look.
Emerson Smart brings the Emerson brand into a line of voice-controlled appliances, including SmartVoice air fryers, smart plugs, tower fans and heaters, plus NoiseZero open-ear earphones.
The ES5503 is a 5.3-quart, 6-in-1 air fryer with built-in offline voice control. There's no app, Wi-Fi or hub to set up.
The air fryer recognizes more than 1,000 preset voice commands. All commands are processed on the device, so Emerson says there's no cloud storage, tracking or data collection.
Say the name of one of 100+ popular foods, such as fries, chicken, salmon or brownies, and it automatically sets the time and temperature.
You can air fry, bake, dehydrate, broil, reheat or keep warm by voice, or use eight touch presets. It also has a preheat mode, a flip reminder and a delay start setting, with 1500W of power.
Emerson designed the voice control to be easy for seniors, people with disabilities and low-vision users, or anyone who prefers hands-free cooking.
At the time of writing, the SmartVoice 5.3QT Air Fryer is listed at $129.99. A larger 10QT version is also available.
This air fryer suits anyone who wants hands-free cooking without setting up a smart home, including older adults and people who find buttons and screens difficult.
Emerson Smart ships free on all orders and runs sitewide sales throughout the year.
The Emerson SmartVoice 5.3QT Air Fryer makes voice control simple and private, which is a real step forward for accessible kitchen appliances.
