Carrying tools on a ride usually means a saddle bag or backpack. The Stash Multi-Tool Kit from Granite Design hides them inside your bike instead. Here's how it works.
Granite Design makes compact cycling tools and on-bike storage, including steerer-tube tool kits, tubeless repair kits, carrier straps and bottle cage mounts.
Stash is a multi-tool that stores neatly inside your fork steerer tube. It uses a lower cap that replaces the star nut, so the tool is always on your bike.
The tool includes 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm hex keys, a T25 Torx and a flathead.
A spoke key covers sizes 0, 1, 2 and 3 and doubles as a valve core remover.
The tool is housed in a CNC-machined alloy body for durability and quick access.
Stash comes in a 30mm version for 1 1/8" straight steerers and a 42mm version for tapered steerers. It suits forks with an opening at the bottom of the steerer and a fork crown-to-stem length of 150-240mm. Granite notes that some forks with internally tapered steerers may not be compatible, so check with your fork manufacturer first.
Stash comes in Orange and Black. At the time of writing, it's listed at $54.99.
Stash suits mountain and road riders who want a clean bike setup without giving up trailside repair tools.
Granite Design offers free worldwide shipping on orders over $50, so Stash qualifies on its own.
The Granite Stash Multi-Tool Kit is a clever, well-made way to carry essential tools without adding clutter to your bike.
